What are your hours?

Mondays: Private Events - 1-3 pm, League - 5-9 pm

Tuesday: Private Events - 10-6 pm, League - 6-10 pm

Wednesday: Private Events - 10-6 pm, League - 6-10 pm

Thursday: Private Events - 10-6 pm, League - 6-10 pm

Friday: Private Events - 10-6 pm, Drop-Ins 6-10 pm

Saturday: Private Events - 10-9 pm

Sunday: Drop-Ins 2-6 pm, League 6-10 pm

​How much does it cost? 

Private events are $45 + HST per person (2 hours).

Drop-Ins are $20 + HST per person per hour.

How do I book an event?

You can book online. 

​

What is the min/max number of people for an event? 

6 people is the minimum number to book a private event. If you arrive with less than 6 people, the minimum event price of 6 people still applies. The maximum number of people we can accommodate is 28 (includes any spectators).

How long does an event last?

Your event will last approximately 2 hours. Please arrive on time! We cannot extend your event if you arrive late.

What happens when we arrive?

Once all members of your party have arrived we'll:

• ask every guest to sign a waiver

• spend a few minutes talking about safety and provide training on how to throw.

​

​You'll have lots of time to practice throwing, and then we'll organize a knockout tournament for your group.

​

How do I pay?

Payment is due at the end of your visit. We accept cash, credit card, and debit. Payment can be made individually or as a group.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel within 1 week of your appointment, the credit card used to make your reservation will automatically be charged a $50 late cancellation fee.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes, you'll be required to sign an online waiver when you arrive. Click here to read the waiver.

I've never thrown an axe before, will you show me how?

Absolutely! Our staff will ensure you're safe and comfortable as you learn how to throw. We'll offer tips throughout your visit to get you successfully hitting the target.

What should I wear?

Closed-toe shoes are MANDATORY (you will NOT be permitted to throw in sandals). High heels are not recommended. Dress comfortably. Wear loose clothing on your upper body. Plaid and costumes are welcome!

Do you serve alcohol?

Yes, Riot Axe is licensed. We carry a variety of local beer, cider, and coolers. Please enjoy responsibly. Individuals who appear intoxicated upon arrival will NOT be served or permitted to throw.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

We have a small assortment of snacks and beverages available for sale, but you are absolutely welcome to bring your own food. Outside alcoholic beverages will not be allowed.

​

Can we play music?

Of course! The tunes are always on at Riot Axe (you might even catch us dancing). We're happy to take your requests if there's a certain genre of music or special song your wish to hear.

Can I bring my own axe?

We provide the axes for Private Events and Casual Fridays. League members are free to bring their own axes for Leagues, League Member Practice, and Casual Fridays if the axe(s) follow IATF regulations.

Do you allow spectators?

Spectators are welcome and are free of charge.

​

Are kids allowed?

Youths who are 12+ and demonstrate the ability to throw safely are welcome to participate, however, all minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Toddlers and young children under age 12 are not allowed at Riot Axe. However, infants who are not yet mobile are welcome in the care of their parents or legal guardian. Ear protection for infants is encouraged (it gets loud). We are a breastfeeding-friendly establishment.

Are dogs allowed?

Unless your dog is a service animal, we ask that for now, you keep your furry friend at home.

Can I decorate the space for an event?

Yes! You are welcome to arrive 15 minutes prior to your event start time to decorate the space for your special occasion. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Can I put a picture of someone on the target?

Nope.

​

Can I take pictures/video?

Absolutely! We love seeing your pictures and videos on social media! We also offer free Wi-Fi. @riot_axe #riotaxe.

Do you have an axe throwing league?

Yes! Riot Axe is a member of the International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF). Visit our league page to learn more.

Do you offer drop-in axe throwing?

If you are looking for a more laid-back axe throwing experience, consider coming to our Drop-In Open Axe Throwing available on Fridays from 6-10 pm and Sundays from 2-6 pm.

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes! Just contact us and we'll be happy to help. We can also arrange to email a gift certificate.

 

Is axe throwing safe?

We take safety very seriously at Riot Axe and follow IATF safety protocol. We will review the rules with you when you arrive. Failure to follow the safety rules or obey staff may result in expulsion without refund.

 

What is IATF?

IATF is an acronym for the International Axe Throwing Federation. The IATF represents the sport of axe throwing on behalf of all member organizations, with the specific mandate to promote universal safety, sportsmanship, and competitive protocol.
